Projects
STAGETEXT has run a number of projects over the last few years, the main one being See a Voice, a joint project with VocalEyes, which aimed to increase the availability of captioning and audio description services across the country. The project ran for three years from March 2006.
Current projects include:
-
Museums and Galleries, to develop access to talks and lectures in these venues.
-
Social Groups, to enable deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people in London to attend captioned performances together.
- Community Captioning, a new initiative to train community captioners who will work on a voluntary basis to provide access to live theatre performances offered by community groups, non-professional theatre companies and voluntary arts organisations.
