If you’re as passionate about deaf access as we are then we’d love to see you setting up your own fundraising activities – it’s one of the best ways to make a difference. The 18 million of us who rely on captions and subtitles thank you for your support.
Every penny you raise helps us persuade another theatre, museum or gallery to provide captions or subtitles that can totally transform the experience for audiences who are deaf, deafened or hard of hearing.
Whether you’re lacing up your running shoes to conquer a half marathon or pre-heating the oven for some delicious bake-sale cakes, we’re on hand to help you turn your fundraising idea into a reality.

Find the right idea
Your fundraising idea can as big or as small as you want: from a full-blown marathon to a sponsored silence, or even just collecting coins in a piggy bank. Once you’ve found the best route for you, we’ll help promote your event.

Getting the money to us
Online donations will be sent directly to Stagetext. Thank you!
For in-person collections, there are a couple of ways to send us what you’ve raised:
- Online: Tot up your total and make the equivalent donation via justgiving.com.
- By cheque: Send a cheque made payable to Stagetext, along with the sponsorship form (if you’ve used one) to: Stagetext, Mercury Theatre, Balkerne Gate, Colchester, CO1 1PT
*Gift Aid is a government initiative that means that every £1 raised is worth £1.25 to Stagetext. To include Gift Aid, simply tick the box online or encourage people to complete the Gift Aid section of the sponsorship form. Every UK taxpayer can tick the box.
