Mona Chalabi is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who converts complex data into arresting illustrations, often using text and sound to make people stop and rethink. She was named a Royal Designer for Industry – the highest accolade that a UK designer can receive – in recognition of her talent for making the intangible tangible. From capturing the enormity of wars in Palestine, Congo, and Sudan, to how hijabis are depicted on screen, Chalabi talks to Heather Parry about how ‘design helps to structure our moral universe.’
