Talk and draw – The Full length Mirror

Beginning with The Full-length Mirror by Eva Gonzalès, artist Joanna Conybeare will use this painting as a starting point for discussion and a creative response.
 
The session will explore themes of reflection, gaze and representation. Together you will consider how artists use mirrors, viewpoints and composition to shape the way a figure is seen and to create moments of intimacy, observation and narrative.
 
Guided by Joanna you will creatively explore this work and others in the collection while developing your own responses in this artist-led drawing session.
 
Please have to hand paper and pencils, with optional charcoal if you would like to experiment with additional materials.
 
The session will take place online, will last about one hour, and will be accompanied by live speech-to-text transcription supported by Stagetext.
