Young People’s Book Prize 2023 Award Ceremony image
Synopsis:

How do bugs help humans? What does dinner taste like on the International Space Station? How gross is the human body? How did our ancestors spend their time during the Stone Age? How dangerous is an ant? How do viruses spread?
The six books shortlisted for the Young People’s Book Prize 2023 have launched children across the UK on a quest to meet scientists of past and present, find answers to some of the most pressing scientific challenges, and discover the wonders that exist on Earth and beyond.
This year, over 640 UK schools, science clubs and youth groups have taken up the challenge of judging this year’s prize. Over 12,000 young judges have poured over the pages full of bugs, brains and black holes and have now declared their winner.
This year’s award ceremony will be hosted by BAFTA-winning television presenter Maddie Moate and is an excellent occasion to meet the authors and discover this year’s winner.
