Synopsis:

With music and lyrics by multi-Oscar, Golden Globe and Grammy Award winner Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, The Prince of Egypt, The Hunchback of Notre Dame) and a book by Tony Award-nominee Winnie Holzman, Wicked is currently the 9th longest running show in West End history, having been seen at the Apollo Victoria Theatre London by over thirteen million people.

Two-time Tony-winner Joe Mantello directs this “devilishly clever spin on The Wizard of Oz” (The Daily Telegraph), with musical staging by Tony-winner Wayne Cilento.

Based on the acclaimed novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked imagines a beguiling backstory and future possibilities to the lives of L. Frank Baum’s beloved characters from ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’, revealing the decisions and events that shape the destinies of two unlikely university friends on their journey to becoming ‘Glinda The Good’ and the ‘Wicked Witch of the West’.

After the continuing success of the Broadway run, two US tours, three UK tours, and countless international productions, Wicked recently celebrated nineteen triumphant years at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.
