Melanie Sykes has been a well-known broadcaster for nearly thirty years. But between all the interviews and chat shows was a life unseen and a story unsaid. Melanie was diagnosed with autism at 51, and Illuminated is her honest account of a being a woman in the media, navigating relationships, and being a neurodivergent person speaking up in a neurotypical world.
Melanie Sykes is the editor-in-chief of Frank magazine, an autism advocate and a campaigner for women’s rights. After a career that began in modelling, she moved to TV and radio and became one of the nation’s best-loved presenters.
