Synopsis:

Marina Abramović’s performances have earned her worldwide fame. Her exhibition at the Royal Academy, gives us the opportunity to experience her pioneering work, from early works such as Imponderabilia, to later pieces like the durational performance The House with the Ocean View.
In this conversation, Marina Abramović and Andrea Tarsia discuss the process of bringing this major exhibition together. Abramović explains the process of creating performances, working with performers trained in the Marina Abramović method, and breathing new life into many of her performances in the Royal Academy’s galleries.
Considering key moments from Abramović’s career through the lens of this major exhibition, this conversation considers the future of live art and explores Abramović’s vision for the performance artists of the future.
Marina Abramović is a world-renowned performance artist. She was one of the first performance artists to become formally accepted by the institutional museum world with major solo shows taking place throughout Europe and the US.
