Part of Durham Book Festival.
Celebrate the 2022 Gordon Burn Prize, as we present readings of the five brilliant shortlisted books and announce this year’s winner.
The Gordon Burn Prize was founded to honour the memory of the late Newcastle-born writer Gordon Burn. It celebrates exploratory, innovative and questioning works of fiction and narrative non-fiction that challenge convention and defy categorisation, as Gordon’s own work did. The winning writer is awarded a prize of £5,000 and the opportunity to take a retreat at Gordon Burn’s cottage in the Scottish Borders.
The 2022 judges are:
writer Denise Mina (Chair), sportswriter Jonathan Liew, writer and broadcaster Stuart Maconie, visual artist and poet, Heather Phillipson and journalist and author Chitra Ramaswamy.
