Synopsis:

In the bleak Polish midwinter, men in an isolated village are being murdered. The story unfolds through the eyes of older local woman Janina, as she takes on the task of identifying the suspect in this deeply captivating mystery. She finds herself engaged in fierce resistance against the injustices around her. Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead is a tale about the cosmos, poetry, and the limitations and possibilities of activism.
 
Simon McBurney directs a new work for theatre based on Nobel Prize winning author Olga Tokarczuk’s acclaimed novel, which was shortlisted for the 2019 International Booker Prize. Olivier Award-winning actress Kathryn Hunter will play protagonist Janina Duszejko in this ensemble cast.
