Across boundaries: Japanese & UK contemporary female & non-binary artists image
Synopsis:

Join this provocative conversation between British Museum curators Dr Akiko Yano and Isabel Seligman, chaired by Dr Rosina Buckland.
They will discuss connecting themes of their inspiring exhibitions at the Museum (the current exhibition in Room 3 Contemporary Women Artists of Japan: Six Stories and the upcoming Drawing attention: emerging British artists in Room 90) and recent collecting of contemporary works by women and non-binary artists. They’ll also explore the social context in which these artworks were produced and how the artists navigated tradition and innovation to push boundaries in their work.
