About this event
Hear from the Royal Society and Royal Society of Edinburgh’s grants teams about the funding opportunities available to UK-based and international researchers from postdoctoral fellowships to senior professorships. The speakers will provide advice on developing competitive grant applications and answer questions from the audience about all aspects of applying for funding from both organisations. The speakers will be joined by current researchers supported by both organisations who will give their views on applying for and holding grant funding from the Royal Society and Royal Society of Edinburgh.
This event is part of the Royal Society's Creating Connections conference series. Scotland plays a key role in driving UK innovation and prosperity. The Royal Society is working in partnership with the Royal Society of Edinburgh, Scotland's National Academy, to deliver Creating Connections – a two day conference focusing on Scottish research and innovation. Scientific and technical opportunities and challenges in Scotland will be addressed by leading experts from academia, industry and government.
This event will be live streamed via Zoom and a recording will be made available after the session. A link to the livestream will be shared with attendees via email approximately 48 hours before the start of the session.
Attending the event
This event is free to attend. This event is intended to support researchers and members of research support staff either currently based in Scotland or looking to be based in Scotland in applying for funding from the Royal Society and Royal Society of Edinburgh.
We welcome questions from the audience relating to funding opportunities from the Royal Society and Royal Society of Edinburgh.
Questions can be submitted in advance on sign up, or throughout the event via the dedicated Slido link which will be made available at the start of the event. Any questions we do not get to in the live Q&A will be addressed in follow up communication after the event. Please note, these questions will be public so do not disclose any personal information.
