What makes food writing tantalizing and what leaves a sour taste in the mouth? Discover the basic dos and don’ts of food writing at this introductory 3-part online short course, which can be taken as individual sessions or as a set.
We’ll explore the fundamentals of writing about food, connecting with your target audience and building a following for your work. We’ll also touch on some common pitfalls to avoid such as clichéd language and cultural appropriation, which we explore more deeply in the second session of this series. You’ll also gain an insight into how the British Library can be used as a resource.
This course takes place on Zoom and we will email you a joining link the day before. There will be an opportunity to ask the tutor Mallika Basu questions during a Q&A, and have conversations with your fellow participants in virtual breakout rooms.
This event will have live subtitles provided by Stagetext, delivered by MyClearText.
