Talk Online | A Mindful Moment

Online | A Mindful Moment

Synopsis

About

After a chaotic and uncertain start to the year, take a moment to reconnect together and find a new pace for spring. Sample mindfulness techniques and simple drawing activities, suitable for grown-ups and children alike.

Ignite your senses as we explore a painting though a guided slow look, led by Christina Bradstreet. Learn to wind down against the backdrop of a beautiful French water garden in Monet’s ‘The Water-Lily Pond’. Then pick up a pencil to sketch along with artist Jo Lewis and try creative drawing exercises to complement mindful looking.

Take away tips and ideas to help you travel into other painted scenes, be present, or support a family visit to the Gallery.

‘The Water-Lily Pond’ by Monet is the National Gallery’s selected painting in ‘The Great Big Art Exhibition 2021’. Find out more about how to share your artwork online as part of this nationwide exhibition here.

The session will take place online, via Zoom, and will last about an hour.

The session will be close-captioned.
