Key facts

Genre: Event with live speech-to-text

Synopsis

Join physicist Jana Hutter at the Wellcome Collection’s Packed Lunch event to learn about one of our most poorly understood organs. The placenta is a vital but constantly changing organ that is difficult to study. Hutter has created a new non-invasive tool that enables us to visualise the placenta while it’s still inside the mother’s body and gain new insight into human biology.

About your speaker

Jana Hutter is a physicist working at the Centre for the Developing Brain at King’s College London on novel imaging techniques to study babies’ development before and just after birth.
