Death of a Salesman

Key facts

Playwright: Arthur Miller

“Work a lifetime to pay off a house. You finally own it, and there’s nobody to live in it.”

Willy Loman is an ordinary man, he’s the New England man, he’s well-liked. For thirty-six years he’s been on the road, paying his way and one day he’s going to come good. When his son Biff returns home, suddenly things are looking up. Because you reap what you sow, right?

Royal Exchange Artistic Director Sarah Frankcom (Happy Days, Our Town) directs Don Warrington (Death in Paradise, King Lear) as Willy Loman in Arthur Miller’s devastating classic about striving for what’s out of reach and the downfall of the American Dream.

Don Warrington is an award-winning actor who can currently be seen in the BBC's hugely successfull series DEATH IN PARADISE. His career spans television, radio and the stage. He is joined on stage by Maureen Beattie as Linda Loman.
