Synopsis

To mark the 100th anniversary of voting rights for women (over 30 and who owned property), the award-winning author Joanne Harris will talk to Helen Pankhurst, the great-granddaughter of suffragette leader Emmeline Pankhurst and a leading women’s rights campaigner in her own right.

Helen’s new book, Deeds Not Words, charts how women’s lives have changed over the past century and offers a powerful and positive argument for the way forward.
