Synopsis

Act For Change in partnership with The Stage present Widening The Lens

Widening The Lens will be a debate about the landscape and future of critical writing within the context of diversity and representation.

A panel of industry influencers will discuss topics including the landscape of criticism (past and present), the impact critics have as cultural shapers, the role of the media, as well as sharing perspectives from outside the theatre world. Act For Change are pleased to welcome back Baroness Shami Chakrabarti, Shadow Attorney General, as co-Chair for the fourth sucessive event, along with Alistair Smith, Editor of The Stage.

The panel will tackle issues relating to controversy in reviews, the responsibility of the critic, and the relationship between arts criticism and Act For Change's ongoing campaign for greater diversity in the arts.
