Synopsis
Following the watery spectacle of the weekend’s Jubilee river pageant join us to take a journey along the River Thames in art.
From Canaletto’s painted celebration of the Thames on Lord Mayor’s Day, Jo Rhymer will look at how artists such as Turner, Monet, Sisley and Whistler gained inspiration from the river to produce paintings which transcend the everyday appearances of this beloved working waterway.
