The King and I at Birmingham Hippodrome

We took our 17 year old daughter to the show with us yesterday Friday 4th May. We were so disappointed in the acoustics in the circle and the casting that we took the difficult decision to leave at the interval We couldn’t see it getting any better, so sorry to review the show in such a negative manner. There were a few brighter moments in various scenes but too few. The leading lady was excellent but let down by a poor cast.

What a shame that you saw the show on Friday 4th as there was a captioned performance the previous evening so you would have been able to follow everything. Future captioned shows at Birmingham Hippodrome can be found in the What’s On pages of this website.
