The year’s AMA conference, “The Power of Play”, will be held from 24 – 26 July in Liverpool and focusses on how critical creativity is for survival.

“Play is a serious business. In a time of shrinking budgets and strange politics, arts organisations increasingly recognise that a creative response is critical to survival. Without creativity, innovation can’t happen. It’s those innovative strokes of genius that make us resilient and make audiences want to know us.

“Play is about responding to challenge, replacing isolation with collaboration, embracing risk, and experimenting. If play became central to our work what would our organisations look like and what could we achieve?

At AMA conference 2018, we want to launch ourselves into the realm of exploration and ask ourselves, ‘can we afford not to put play first?.”
