Fun Family Challenge - Running the Shakespeare Marathon for Stagetext

A family consisting of three sisters: Sophy, Isabel and Amelia Harrison-Hall, plus Amelia’s boyfriend Simon Rett are running the Shakespeare Marathon to help raise money for Stagetext. The half marathon takes place on Sunday 7 May 2017 in Stratford-upon-Avon.

As they work in different parts of the country, the family say they’re very excited to run the marathon as it’s a one of the few chances they’ll get to do something fun together - all whilst keeping fit for a great a cause!

Amelia said: 'We are all really excited about running our first half marathon and have been training hard over the past few months. We are especially glad to be running in aid of such a worthy cause to help provide equal access to deaf, deafened and hard of hearing audiences.'

Stagetext’s CEO Melanie Sharpe said:

‘As a registered charity, the funds that Sophy, Isabel, Amelia and Simon raise will support Stagetext in providing equal access for deaf, deafened and hard of hearing audiences across the UK. We’re incredibly grateful  and proud that they have decided to run for Stagetext and it’s fantastic that they’re shining a light on captioned and subtitled access. We hope that everyone supporting the runners and Stagetext will donate. We’d like to say a massive thank you to them for their enthusiasm and determination in making this a successful challenge.’

With a few weeks still to go, the runners' initial target of £500 (including Gift Aid) has already been reached. With such support the runners already know that for every mile they run they are raising nearly £10 for Stagetext. With the same show of support over the next three weeks who knows how much higher this figure may rise.
