PhD project on live subtitles

PhD project on live subtitles

Zoe Moores, a PhD student from Roehampton University, is exploring how respeaking can best be used to subtitle more live arts and cultural events and Stagetext is supporting her research, as the findings may be used to support our services in the future.

A little more about the project:

Respeaking is the process of using speech recognition software to create live subtitles. TV programmes like the news and sports shows are often subtitled in this way, but it isn’t used as widely at live events.

Zoe has now released an update on her project, which includes a thank you to everyone who took part in the survey.

Thank you for your interest in this project.
