First captioned performances at North London fringe theatre
The Blueprint Theatre Company has programmed two captioned performances of Women Laughing by Michael Wall at the Old Red Lion Theatre, Islington, North London, on Thursday 18 October and Saturday 20 October at 7.30pm.
Dealing with taboos of mental health that, sadly, haven't left us in the 25 years since it was written, the play takes us from the garden of a house in suburban London to the grounds of a mental asylum, where two couples fight for their lives amidst the inner-city frustrations and aspirations of the 1980s.
A fascinating, naturalistic, and intimate character-driven comedy, the play shows us outwardly successful and socially mobile self-made men caught up in the whirlwind of Thatcher's ruthlessly competitive society, facing an internal struggle with the pressures of their careers and their lives.
"Distressingly funny and deeply perceptive" Manchester Evening News.

An exciting revival of the only play by the late, great author Kurt Vonnegut.
