Mission

The Mission of STAGETEXT is for all deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people to have equal access to arts and entertainment through captions by:

• Promoting quality captioning to arts and entertainment providers.
• Enabling captioning services in arts and entertainment venues.
• Delivering accredited training for captioners and developing quality assurance for captioning services.
• Utilising technology to meet the needs of venues and audiences.
• Developing the ability of deaf, deafened and hard of hearing audiences to monitor captioning services.
