Social Groups

Being deaf can be an isolating experience and a trip to see a captioned show on your own might not be all that appealing. But there's good news if you live in the London area because you can now join a STAGETEXT social group.

The groups enable deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people in the 32 London boroughs to attend captioned performances together, based on a common interest or in a specific area of the capital. The idea is that the groups will not only encourage more people to see captioned shows at local theatres and in the West End, but also enable them to socialise and mix together. STAGETEXT is also looking for volunteers to work with each group and coordinate regular trips to the theatre.

Groups currently up and running
